Chelsea’s January transfer window will always be remembered for how they failed to sign Jeremy Jacquet from Rennes.

The one positive about the January transfer window was getting rid of Raheem Sterling’s massive wages, after stagnating in the ‘bomb squad’ at Cobham.

Chelsea decided to rely on youth in the form of Josh Acheampong after failing to sign Jeremy Jacquet, with Tosin Adarabioyo and Levi Colwill to return as well.

This could well work out for Chelsea, but there’s no doubting that a defender with experience is definitely required in a very young centre-back group.

However, the Jacquet blow may not be so painful after all, as Chelsea have a teenager in their youth ranks who continues to impress.

Did Rosenior get his tactics wrong against Arteta? 🤔

Hindsight is a wonderful thing…

Harrison Murray-Campbell, remember the name

Chelsea’s Under-19 side have made it through to the last 16 of the UEFA Youth League after beating Ajax 7-6 on penalties.

It was a game that evved and flowed, with Chelsea being pegged back and then having a man sent off, before Freddy Bernal saved the day with two penalty saves.

One player who stood out was 19-year-old Harrison Murray-Campbell, a centre-back who has already made his professional debut for Chelsea in the UEFA Conference League.

Enzo Maresca was impressed with what he saw from Murray-Campbell on that day.

“When you play the first game, it’s never easy, so he did quite well. We have seen that he’s good on the ball, he’s also good defending, and I think he could deserve the chance to get minutes tonight, and he was OK.”

Is Liam Delap not good enough for Chelsea or are we not playing to his strengths?🤔

Harrison Murray-Campbell captained the Chelsea U19 side in their UEFA Youth League match against PSV Eindhoven. His impact in that game was felt at both ends of the pitch, posing a constant threat from set-pieces, which has seen him score five goals and provide two assists in 11 Premier League 2 displays.

Defensively, he led a backline that successfully navigated a high-intensity game. But the most impressive thing was how calm and collected he looked on the ball.

He’s a perfect fit for Liam Rosenior‘s system. His array of passing was incredible, switching it from left to right and linking play. Definitely one to keep an eye on for the future.

At a similar age to Jacquet, what is stopping Chelsea from giving him a go?
