It’s incredible to believe but we’re just over a week into the launch of 11377 Minas Tirith, the biggest LEGO Lord of the Rings set of all time, and by all metrics, the release seems to have been a big success.

11377 Minas Tirith is already on backorder in the US, UK, Europe, so you’ll need to wait over 2 months for the next production batch to ship.

Check out my review of Grond to see how it integrates with Minas Tirith!

Thankfully the 40893 Grond GWP is still available, and today (7 June 2026) is the final day to score Minas Tirith’s companion GWP – for now.

LEGO seems to have taken plenty of feedback onboard from the 10333 Barad-Dur and 40693 Fell Beast GWP, which sold out incredibly quickly. Despite 11377 Minas Tirith going on backorder, copies of 40893 Grond are still readily available worldwide.

This must point to the fact that The LEGO Group have forecasted demand for Minas Tirith and placed a bigger than usual production run of Grond to meet demand, beyond the launch. With sets still remaining past the launch promotional period, I think this points to the high possibility of Grond coming back again with purchases of Minas Tirith in the future, so if you miss out on 11377 Minas Tirith at this time, maybe save up and wait for 40893 Grond to make an appearance again.

And don’t forget, for Australia, UK and Europe, today is also the last day to score 2x LEGO Insider Points on 10333 Barad-Dur, 10316 Rivendell and 10354 The Shire!
