Work has officially begun on the transformation of a key site in the Fabijoniškės district of Vilnius, located at the intersection of Fabijoniškių and Ateities streets. A shopping center that had served the neighborhood for decades was closed on May 23, and demolition crews are currently clearing the site. This process is expected to last two to three weeks, paving the way for the construction of the new “Jaunatis” (New Moon) multifunctional complex, which is scheduled for completion by the end of 2027.

The project is being developed by Homa Group, which has invested approximately 17 million euros into the site. Following the issuance of a building permit in April, the developer is moving forward with a plan to integrate modern residential units with commercial infrastructure.

While construction is underway, the local sports club, including its wellness area and swimming pool, will remain open to the public. Once the project is finalized, it aims to improve pedestrian flow in the area. A 24-hour open gallery will replace the former pedestrian path leading to the bus stop, providing a more accessible route for residents navigating the district’s main thoroughfares.

The ground floor of the new complex is designed to house retail spaces, cafes, and restaurants, intended to revitalize the immediate area. For residents, the development will feature a landscaped communal terrace on the second floor, complete with a children’s playground. The residential portion includes a variety of unit sizes, ranging from one to four rooms, as well as 16 exclusive two-story apartments featuring private roof terraces.

According to Eglė Krengauskė, head of marketing at Homa Group, the project has seen strong demand, with nearly half of the available units reserved within the first week of sales. The interest is largely driven by local Fabijoniškės residents who value the established infrastructure, nearby schools, and convenient public transport links, as well as investors looking for long-term potential in the area.
