Tennis icon Serena Williams will play doubles at the Berlin Open next week with Czech player Karolina Muchova. “It doesn’t happen often that you get to play doubles with a player like that,” Muchova told a press conference on Saturday confirming the rumours. The 44-year-old Williams is expected in the German capital for the grass event over the weekend. Her first appearance will still be a little while in coming. “Monday is rather unlikely, it will work out on Tuesday or Wednesday,” said tournament director Markus Zoecke. Just under two weeks ago, US star Williams announced her return from retirement in doubles, sending the tennis world into a stir. (dpa)
