FONDA, N.Y. (WNYT)- A Delmar woman was sentenced June 4 in Montgomery County Court for the death of Cole Sevigny, according to the Montgomery County District Attorney’s (DA) Office.

The DA’s office says Veronica Armbruster will spend between two and a third to seven years in prison for hitting and killing Sevigny, who was 25 years old when he died.
New York State Police (NYSP) previously reported that Armbruster hit Sevigny February 19, 2025, on I-90 between Exits 27-28 in Amsterdam. They say Armbruster was driving drunk, going east in the westbound lane, when she hit Sevigny head on.
Armbruster pleaded guilty to second-degree vehicular manslaughter.
NYSP said Armbruster had a blood alcohol concentration twice the legal limit: 0.16%.
Sevigny was taken to St. Mary’s Hospital in Amsterdam, where he was ultimately pronounced dead. Armbruster was critically injured in the crash.
