A man wanted for allegedly violating a protective order was found hiding in a tool shop in Berlin on Monday following a foot pursuit involving multiple police agencies.
Officers responded to an unspecified area of town in connection with a potential protective order violation before the suspect, later identified as 26-year-old Tyree Jenkins of Hartford, allegedly fled on foot, according to Lt. Shawn Solek of the Berlin Police Department.
Police immediately summoned help from a K-9 officer, Connecticut State Police and the Newington Police Department.
Following a “lengthy” foot pursuit, Jenkins was found hiding in a shelving unit inside Harbor Freight Tools at 179 Webster Square Road, Solek said. He was charged with interfering with police and violation of a protective order.
Jenkins was held on a $50,000 bond pending an arraignment hearing in New Britain Superior Court on Tuesday.
