WARSAW, N.C. (WITN) – A man was extradited to Duplin County for cashing unpaid lottery tickets, according to warrants.
Warsaw police say Jalen Coleman was extradited to Duplin County, where he faces charges including conspiracy, obtaining property by false pretenses and larceny.
The investigation launched last July after Coleman reportedly convinced multiple gas station clerks in Warsaw to activate lottery tickets and gift cards without paying for them, warrants say.
Police say Coleman also had outstanding warrants from the Duplin County Sheriff’s Office, Onslow County Sheriff’s Office, Jacksonville Police Department, Beulaville Police Department and the Clinton Police Department.
The 20-year-old was brought back to Duplin County with help from the North Carolina Department of Adult Correction and booked yesterday under a $100,000 bond.
