BERLIN — Berlin residents are invited to celebrate the nation’s 250th anniversary during the town’s Spirit of America Celebration this Wednesday.
The evening will include a parade, a public reading of the Declaration of Independence, bell ringers and an ice cream truck at Berlin Town Hall.
Town officials expect residents to take part in the festivities.
The celebration will begin at 5 p.m. with a parade led by a reenactor portraying George Washington. Participants will march from Main Street down Kensington Road to Berlin Town Hall, while spectators can watch the parade along the route.
At 6 p.m., the community will gather at Town Hall for a nationwide reading of the Declaration of Independence to mark the 250th anniversary of its signing. The event will also include performances by bell ringers and an ice cream truck.
