The British Economist Intelligence Unit (EIU) has published its annual ranking of cities with the best living conditions. For the second year in a row, the Danish capital Copenhagen has taken first place. The ranking is based on indicators of healthcare, education, culture, environment, and infrastructure. Analysts also assess the possible problems that residents of these cities may face.
Copenhagen topped the list due to its stability, developed infrastructure, and high-quality public services. In second place, as last year, is the Austrian capital, Vienna. If in 2025 it shared this position with Zurich, Switzerland, then in 2026 Zurich dropped three places. Melbourne, Sydney (Australia), Geneva (Switzerland), Osaka (Japan), Adelaide (Australia), Vancouver (Canada), and Tokyo (Japan) were also included in the top ten.
