The Brussels Lions Club reached a milestone in its 66-year history, surpassing the $1 million mark in donations to various causes.
A sign on the west end of the main pavilion at the Brussels Town Park lists where the donations went. Since 1960, the Brussels Lions Club has donated $123,980 to scholarship programs; $171,392 to state and international Lions programs; $396,109 to the community and town park; $76,511 to local individuals; $175,258 to youth programs; and $56,783 to general programs.
Much of this funding comes from the Brussels Lions Club’s only fundraiser – the Belgian Days festival. This year’s Belgian Days will be held from Friday, July 10 through Sunday, July 12, at the Brussels Town Park, 1366 Junction Road. For details, visit e-clubhouse.org/sites/brusselswi/page-10.php.
