Dalaroo Metals (ASX:DAL) has mapped sediment accumulations up to 50m thick at its Blue Lagoon Rare Earth Project in Greenland through ground-penetrating radar (GPR) and bathymetric surveys.

The company completed 21 GPR lines across five priority shoreline areas and 10 single-beam echo sounder lines across the lagoon to investigate the geometry and depth of the sedimentary system.

Results indicate extensive unconsolidated sediments along the shoreline, with the thickest accumulations recorded at Sites A, B, and C. Interpreted bedrock depths at these locations range approximately 2–50m below surface.

Several areas reached the effective penetration limit of the GPR equipment, which Dalaroo says indicates the sediments may extend deeper than the survey detected.

More moderate accumulations were mapped at Sites D and E. Interpreted bedrock at Site D generally lies between 1m and 30m below surface, while sediment thickness at Site E reaches approximately 10m.

The surveys also identified several previously unrecognised sediment-filled valleys beyond the existing exploration footprint. Dalaroo interprets these valleys as potential transport pathways connecting surrounding rare earth-enriched alkaline granites with shoreline depositional areas.

CEO John Morgan says the work builds on widespread rare earth mineralisation identified in shoreline sediments during the company’s 2025 exploration program.

“This latest work now demonstrates that those sedimentary environments are substantially thicker than originally understood, with sediment accumulations extending to approximately 50 metres in several priority areas,” Morgan says.

Blue Lagoon is located within the Helene alkaline granite, which forms the westernmost exposure of the Nunarsuit Complex in southern Greenland.

Dalaroo plans to combine the geophysical results with geological mapping and assay data to develop a 3D model of the project. It also intends to undertake mineralogical and metallurgical studies and assess the newly mapped valleys during the 2027 exploration season.

Dalaroo Metals is an Australian exploration company focused on gold and rare earth assets in Côte d’Ivoire and Greenland.
