BERLIN — The Berlin Democratic Town Committee is inviting residents to take part in a peaceful community protest Saturday to speak out on issues organizers say are affecting both the community and the country.
The event, called “Enough is Enough: Berlin Peaceful Protest,” will be held from 10 a.m. to noon at the corner of Lower Lane and Farmington Avenue.
According to the committee, the protest will focus on three main issues: opposition to aggressive U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) enforcement actions, ending ongoing U.S. involvement in wars abroad and protecting free and fair elections.
“This is about ordinary people in Berlin showing up for one another and for the democracy we all share,” said Dani Morisse-Corsetti, chair of the Berlin Democratic Town Committee. “You don’t have to travel to a state capital or a big city to make your voice heard. Change starts on the corner where you live. We’re inviting every neighbor who cares about these issues to stand with us on Saturday.”
Organizers said the gathering is open to residents of all ages and is intended to be peaceful and family-friendly. Participants are encouraged to bring signs and water.
