An easyJet flight was forced to divert after leaving Manchester for Copenhagen
A flight from Manchester Airport was forced to divert yesterday after a passenger required urgent medical attention. The flight departed Manchester shortly after 8pm, after being scheduled to depart at 6.50pm, for Copenhagen.
But shortly into the flight, it was forced to divert to Newcastle after an emergency was declared. The flight landed in the north east at 9.45pm before then setting off again for Denmark at around 10.10pm
The flight eventually landed in the Danish capital at 12.30am.
easyJet has since confirmed the emergency was declared due to a passenger needing urgent medical attention.
An easyJet spokesperson said: “Flight EZY2237 from Manchester to Copenhagen yesterday diverted to Newcastle, due to a customer onboard requiring urgent medical attention.
“The customer was met by medical services on arrival and the flight continued to Copenhagen. The safety and wellbeing of our customers and crew is always easyJet’s highest priority.”
