A man driving through the town of Spremberg south-east of Berlin crashed his car on being distracted by a wasp, resulting in thousands of euros in damage, police in the German state of Brandenberg reported on Wednesday.
While the driver escaped injury, there was considerable damage to a lamp post and a fence. The car had to be towed away.
Police assessed damage at around €10,000 ($11,400).
The incident, which took place on Tuesday, also led to the road being closed briefly.
