A flight departing from Manchester Airport made an ‘urgent’ diversion following an incident onboard.
The easyJet flight departed as scheduled on Tuesday (July 28) bound for Copenhagen. However, shortly after take-off, the aircraft had to be diverted to Newcastle.
The urgent diversion was necessitated by a passenger ‘needing urgent medical attention’, easyJet confirmed. The flight was met by emergency services upon landing at Newcastle, reports the Manchester Evening News.

Once the passenger was handed over to the care of medics, the flight resumed its journey to Copenhagen.
A spokesperson for easyJet said: “Flight EZY2237 from Manchester to Copenhagen yesterday diverted to Newcastle, due to a customer onboard requiring urgent medical attention.”
“The customer was met by medical services on arrival and the flight continued to Copenhagen. The safety and wellbeing of our customers and crew is always easyJet’s highest priority.”
