NEW BERLIN, Wis. (WKOW) — Milwaukee Bucks guard Tyler Herro returned to his hometown for his annual basketball camp, where kids ages 11 to 14 ran drills, scrimmaged and took pictures with the NBA player.
Herro spoke about what it means to be back home playing for the Bucks.
“Being home, obviously, we do this camp every year. Obviously, it means a little bit more now that I’m back home playing for the Bucks,” Herro said. “Means a lot to me, my family and really everybody who represents the city and the state.”
The guard also discussed his mindset heading into his first season in the Deer District.
“I probably have the biggest chip on my shoulder I’ve had in my career coming to Milwaukee. We all have chips on our shoulder,” Herro said. “Coach Jenkins himself has a chip on his shoulder. The guys who came in and traded with me, like it’s not just about me.”
Herro said the entire team shares that mentality.
“Obviously, there’s going to be people who probably don’t think we’re going to win many games, but that’s the opposite of what we’re thinking,” he said. “We want to win as many games as possible and really set a culture from day one.”
