BENTON COUNTY, Mo. — Benton County Sheriff’s Office (BCSO) and Warsaw Police arrested a man who faces multiple charges not only in Missouri but also in Oklahoma.

According to a press release by BCSO, Joseph Dawson, 45, faces charges in Sequoyah, Oklahoma, for domestic abuse-assault and battery. In Missouri, Dawson faces charges of resisting/interfering with arrest and possession of a controlled substance.
On Aug. 5, law enforcement made contact with Dawson to arrest him for the two Oklahoma warrants. While putting him in custody, Dawson allegedly repeatedly pulled his arm away, sat on the ground to prevent a body search, and continued to resist while in handcuffs.
A clear baggie was allegedly found in his pocket that later tested positive for methamphetamine.
Dawson is currently being held at the Benton County Detention Facility.
A hearing has been scheduled for Aug. 25.
