📢 Update (August 12, 2026, 10:00 AM CET): What timing: no sooner had we wrapped up our post than the crossover between the Star Wars universe and the Marvel Comics universe was officially confirmed. Over on Starwars.com, we now not only get the announcement of a five-issue limited comic series by Kevin Smith with illustrations by David Marquez, but also some teaser artwork.
First look at the upcoming “Hope Assembles” comic series (Source: Starwars.com)
To mark Star Wars’ 50th anniversary, the comics are set to release starting in January 2027 under the title “Hope Assembles”. That, of course, dramatically increases the odds that there’s something to the rumor about the LEGO Iron Falcon (75481) and that it could arrive around the same time. What do you make of this development? Are you planning to read the comics, and are you (perhaps now even more) interested in a matching LEGO set?
Original post: What happens when you cross Star Wars and Marvel – and we mean literally? That’s right: You’d end up with “Spider-Han,” Hulkbacca, or Captain Alderaan, who, according to current rumors, are set to actually show up as minifigures next year in a crossover between LEGO Marvel and LEGO Star Wars – specifically in the “Iron Falcon” (75481). We’ll try to picture the set that’s making the rounds in the rumor mill and round up all the info for you in this post.
After learning last week about a massive LEGO leak with tons of planned sets for 2027 and 2028, and with the LEGO Star Wars 2027 rumors piling up lately, things are getting even “wilder” in the rumor mill. According to the buggyleaks channel, there’s supposedly going to be a crossover between LEGO Star Wars and LEGO Marvel in 2027, resulting in a LEGO Iron Falcon (75481).
What’s the deal with the Star Wars x Marvel crossover?
Merging the Marvel universe with the galaxy far, far away is probably more than just a spontaneous idea for a LEGO set. That said, there’s no real basis for it from Disney’s side (yet). Of course, various LEGO Star Wars animated series for kids have already turned the original Skywalker saga “on its head” in amusing ways more than once. The “wildest” form of this so far is likely the “Rebuild the Galaxy” series, which already spans two seasons and gave us sets like the Dark Falcon or a TIE Fighter & X-Wing mash-up. However, that “only” blended characters and spaceships from Star Wars, not THE two big Disney franchises.
LEGO 75389 Dark Falcon featuring “Jedi Vader” and “Darth Jar Jar,” among others
Back in February 2026, bleedingcool reported rumors that British writer Mark Millar was supposedly working on a crossover comic under the banner “Star Wars vs. Marvel,” but that was soon dismissed as not credible by different other sources. So (as of now) there’s no concrete source material for LEGO to base the rumored set on. But that could theoretically still change, just like the still very vague release date. Whatever becomes of the “Iron Falcon,” we’re staying tuned and will report here on the blog as soon as there’s news on the topic.
What we know about the Iron Falcon (75481) so far
The rumor specifically mentions an “Iron Falcon” – so presumably a mash-up of the famous Millennium Falcon and the arsenal of flying machines owned by the head of Stark Industries, Tony Stark a.k.a. Iron Man. We don’t have any details yet on the price, piece count, or exact release date, except that the model is supposedly releasing in 2027 and will carry (at least) five minifigures on board.
Summary of the info known so far:
Set number: 75481Name: [Iron Falcon – Star Wars x Marvel ?]Pieces: ?Minifigures: 5Price (RRP): ?Age: ?Release: 2027
Here’s a rundown of the somewhat “goofy”-sounding names of the figures:
“Iron-3PO”: Judging by this mix of a Star Wars and a Marvel character name, the figure could feature elements of both Iron Man and C-3PO, both of which have existed as minifigures for years.
“War2-D2”: Things could get interesting when mixing the LEGO War Machine with the much smaller and differently built R2-D2 droid figure.
“Spider-Han”: With Spider-Man and Han Solo, on the other hand, the mash-up could be pretty simple, since Peter Parker ultimately looks like an ordinary person underneath his suit anyway. But the question is: Who will the “Iron Falcon” belong to then – “Spider-Han” or maybe “Iron-3PO”? We’re staying tuned!
“Captain Alderaan”: Mixing a Marvel character like Captain America with the home planet of Princess Leia, Alderaan, could be pulled off, for example, with a special print on the shield.
“Hulkbacca”: In both “universes” the biggest and (at least in terms of muscle) strongest team members, but not exactly the most talkative – Chewbacca and Hulk.
What do you think about the rumors surrounding this… somewhat different LEGO Star Wars set? Do the minifigure names hit your sense of humor, and could you see yourself having fun with a set like this? Or do you prefer the “classic” LEGO Star Wars sets and find a LEGO Star Wars x Marvel crossover kind of silly? Feel free to share your thoughts in the comments!
