Here in the office, we often joke that Copenhagen Fashion Week is a breeding ground for micro trends, but there’s legitimacy in that. With a more down-to-earth roster than its megawatt counterparts like Milan and Paris, the Danish city’s collections are more reflective of what people are actually wearing. If anything, Copenhagen Fashion Week and its schedule of emerging brands confirm which budding trends are on the precipice of exploding.
And explode they did. The spring/summer 2027 collections leant into It girl favourites like capri pants and scarves slung around waists. More experimental labels like Studio Constance and Nicklas Skovgaard toyed with the concepts of elaborate panniers and tongue-in-cheek ruffles, respectively. Meanwhile, the designers who subscribe to Scandinavia’s minimalistic school of thought like By Malene Birger and Freya Dalsjø dealt in clever draping and a blanched colour palette. Essentially, there’s something for everyone on the minimalism to maximalism spectrum.
Ahead, the key trends that emerged at Copenhagen’s Spring 2027 Fashion Week.
1/ Capri pants take over

The capri trouser trend has been bubbling for a few seasons now, but it really started to take shape in Copenhagen’s spring 2027 collections. They were polished and tailored at Mfpen and The Garment, and loud and vibrant at Caro Editions and OpéraSport.
2/ Blouses barely hanging on

This seasons, numerous garments appeared to barely cling to the wearer’s shoulders. Freya Dalsjø, Anne Sofie Madsen, and The Garment each showed tops and dresses that looked like a swath of fabric was haphazardly tacked to lay just so upon a model’s frame.
3/ The new panniers

This season, provocative brands like Institution, Studio Constance and Taus reimagined the idea of panniers, a sort of side hoop skirt worn in the 17th and 18th centuries that exaggerates a woman’s hips.
4/ A collective white out

So many collections throughout the week stuck to a simple black and white colour palette. Among them, a series of head-to-toe white looks from brands like By Malene Birger and Collina Strada stood out in their stark simplicity.
5/ Just add a ruffle

Danish brands aren’t afraid of a more-is-more approach to design; even the more minimalistic designers love a flourish. The season, the universal rule seemed to involve the addition of a romantic ruffle in some form or fashion, as exemplified at Baum Und Pferdgarten, Nicklas Skovgaard, and even Mfpen.
6/ Beautiful slime

It’s amazing how designers can make the most putrid colours appear rich and beautiful with the right combination of material, silhouette and styling. This season, all eyes were on a charteuse-y slime green, shown most notably in the collections of Stine Goya, Collina Strada, and Gestuz.
7/ Always a waist adornment

This one you’re likely already familiar with; the styling trick of slinging a scarf around your waist has become a fashion favourite. But this season, Danish designers leaned into the idea: Skall Studio tied an evening scarf over night dress and Baum Und Pferdgarten added a layer of ruffles to the waist of a trouser suit.
8/ The dainty frog closure

There’s nothing so dainty as a frog closure, an ornamental fastening on jackets and shirts. This season, brands like By Malene Birger and The Garment adhered them to minimal outerwear for a simple flourish.
9/ #balletcore leg warmers

Dashing from the dance studio? No problem! A number of designers this season clashed leg warmers with everything from tailoring to sequins to formalwear, tucking them into the heels of pumps (though Collina Strada’s Hillary Taymour skipped the shoes entirely).
