LEGO has officially unveiled the latest large-scale Batmobile to join your collection, 76355 Batman Returns Batmobile from Tim Burton’s legendary 1992 movie Batman Returns.

This 2,269-piece model lets you build and display a highly detailed Batmobile that’s widely regarded as one of the best Batmobile designs (after the 89 Batmobile of course), and as a bonus, there’s also a transformation function that allows it to split open and launch the Batmissile.

LEGO Batman fans will also be very happy with a new Batman cowl that drapes across the entire minifigure which makes its debut in this set.

76355 Batman Returns Batmobile has a release date of 1 September 2026 (via LEGO Insiders early access), ahead of a 4 September general release date and will be available exclusively from LEGO.com or your local LEGO Store.

As someone who grew up on Tim Burton’s Batman movies and consider Michael Keaton one of the best to don Batman’s iconic cowl, I have to say that I’m enamoured by this.

Batman Returns is a great follow-up to the 1989 Batman, and it’s unique in the Batman movie legendarium as it’s the most distinctively Tim Burton Batman, was incredibly atmospheric, and who can forget Danny Devito’s unhinged performance as The Penguin, as well as Michelle Pfeiffer’s Catwoman.

Unfortunately, only one minifigure is included, which is a bit of a shame as we used to get villain minifigures in these big Batvehicle sets. The new Batman Cowl is phenomenal, with the way it falls across the minifigure’s body. It’s a little uncanny in a way as it “breaks” the iconic look and silhouette of a LEGO minifigure, but it’s really fascinating to see how LEGO’s Graphic Design and Element Design team push the envelope when it comes to minifigure designs.

I do wish they had included a Penguin and Catwoman minifigure in this display, as it’s incredibly rare to get a set based on Batman Returns, and I cannot imagine another opportunity for us to get Devito’s Penguin and Michelle Pfeiffer’s Catwoman as minifigures, especially if you missed out on 76252 Batcave Shadow Box

The Batmissile functionality is really interesting. The sequence where Batman is being chased by Gotham Police, and his Batmobile is revealed to be able to split into 3, and launch the Batmissile, a slimmer and narrower Batmobile was really cool, but it was only on-screen for a limited amount of time.

That said, the functionality is really neat, and I’m glad to see the design team made it work so seamlessly here, and here’s to more Batmobiles containing interesting functions like this.

That said, I think 76355 Batman Returns Batmobile looks amazing, and it’s great to finally be able to complete the Tim Burton Batmobile collection with this ode to the 1992 classic, plus the

Again, if you have the 1989 Batwing, and 1989 Batmobile, adding the 76355 Batman Returns Batmobile to your collection is a no-brainer when it’s released on 1 September 2026.

That said, revising photos of these two models really drives home the fact that the minifigure lineup here is sorely lacking The Penguin and Catwoman, and I have no idea why LEGO would leave them out, unless it was a cost-cutting exercise.

What do you think of the Batman Returns Batmobile? Will you add this to your collection?

76355 Batman Returns Batmobile will be released on 1 September 2026, and will be available exclusively from LEGO.com or your local LEGO Store.
