Since launching in the early 2010s, club concept Natten has been a constant presence in Stockholm’s nightlife.
If you’ve been there, no further explanation of what makes the concept so great is needed. But if you haven’t: imagine thousands of people on a dance floor, a giant disco ball in the middle and everyone singing along to power ballads such as Celine Dion’s ‘My Heart Will Go On’ and Bon Jovi’s ‘Wanted Dead or Alive’. With emphasis on the word everyone. The atmosphere is characterised by warmth. Large red balloons bounce overhead, strangers hug (or kiss) and for a few hours Stockholm feels like one giant (roaring) singalong choir with a shared fondness for sentimentality and romance.
A few times a year, Natten takes over the cultural venue Banan-Kompaniet in Frihamnen, and the next edition is planned for Saturday, September 19.
And one more thing: every Natten night features at least one surprise guest. At Walpurgis Night, the last time the club was held, Howlin’ Pelle Almqvist from The Hives, among others, sang along to a Nick Cave song.
Natten takes place at Banan-Kompaniet in Frihamnen on Saturday, September 19th. Tickets go on sale August 25th at 12:00 and can be bought here.
