## Train services disrupted due to bad weather
Due to strong winds and the aftermath of the storm on Sunday morning, train services were halted on several railway routes, and some trains are running with significant delays. This was reported by the company Pasažieru vilciens (PV), operating under the brand Vivi.
Train services were stopped on the routes Riga – Tukums II, Riga – Skulte, and Riga – Aizkraukle. After the aftermath of the storm is cleared, services on the Riga – Sloka section are gradually being resumed.
Services on the Skulte and Aizkraukle routes were planned to be restored by around 11:00.
The electric train services on the Riga – Jelgava route were also halted. They were planned to be gradually resumed by around 11:00.
PV emphasized that the mentioned timelines are preliminary and may change depending on the further development of the situation and new damages to the railway infrastructure. Even after services are restored, trains will need time to return to their regular schedule, so initial delays are possible.
To partially ensure passenger transport on the Tukums route, buses have been organized from Tukums II to Riga. The first bus departed from Tukums II station at 4:40, and the second at 6:30. They make stops in Tukums I, Kemeri, Sloka, Dubulti, and near the Central Station in Riga.
Additionally, a diesel train was appointed on the Riga – Skriveri route, which was scheduled to depart from Riga at around 3:40.
Meanwhile, the train Rezekne II – Riga, which departed from Rezekne at 4:36, was running with a delay of about 25 minutes due to the bad weather. The train Daugavpils – Riga, which departed from Daugavpils at 3:48, was delayed by about 60 minutes.
PV urges passengers to check the latest information on train services before traveling.
