British electronic act Morcheeba is to return to Estonia next spring. The band last performed in Tallinn just last year.
Morcheeba, formed in rural Kent in 1995, soon gained traction after meeting vocalist Skye Edwards in London, meeting with mainstream success soon after. Morcheeba blends trip-hop, downtempo and electronic music in its work, and the band has sold more than 10 million copies across 11 studio albums released over the course of its career. Hits included “Rome Wasn’t Built in a Day” and “The Sea.”
The latest of these is last year’s “Escape the Chaos,” which will also be showcased on the concert tour coming to Tallinn.
The lineup has evolved over the years, with founder member Ross Godfrey the constant. He is currently joined by Edwards, who rejoined the band in 2012 after a split in the early 2000s.
“Escape the Chaos” took two years to work on and sees Morcheeba returning to its roots by combining electronic sounds with live instruments and trip-hop with soul, blues and psychedelia.
The 2025 gig was in Tallinn’s Freedom Square, but next year’s will be indoors at the Alexela Concert Hall, also in the capital, on April 20.
The date is part of a wider tour of Europe, including the Baltic states, and worldwide will take in Australia, Brazil, Canada and the U.S.
