A turbulent season for Rytas

Despite being clear underdogs, Rytas Vilnius delivered a major surprise last season by winning the FIBA Basketball Champions League in Badalona.

However, this success was followed by a disappointing 0-2 loss in the Lithuanian League quarterfinals to Juventus Utena, a team that reached the finals for the first time in their history.

Following the historic playoff collapse, the club fired head coach Giedrius Zibenas, ending his multi-season tenure. To fill the vacancy, assistant coach Nedas Pacevicius was announced as the new head coach for the upcoming season.
