Denmark is deploying soldiers to Greenland for the first time in recent history, a move that reads as a direct response to President Trump’s repeated demands to acquire the territory.

For the first time in recent history, Danish conscripts are training on Greenlandic soil. They’re the first cohort under a new conscription program built to put soldiers on the ice Trump keeps saying he wants.
