The Ukrainian trio enters a star-studded competition, with one athlete chasing another major title and two others seeking a place on the podium.
On September 4–5, the final of the prestigious Diamond League athletics series will take place in Brussels. Ukraine will be represented at the season-ending competition by Oleh Doroshchuk, Yaroslava Mahuchikh, and Iryna Herashchenko, who will compete in the high jump.

Oleh Doroshchuk’s opponents in the final
On September 4, Oleh Doroshchuk will compete in the Diamond League final for the third time in his career. He will battle the following athletes for victory:
Romain Beckford – Jamaica.
Thomas Carmoy – Belgium.
JuVaughn Harrison – USA.
Mateusz Kołodziejski – Poland.
Erick Portillo – Mexico.
Gianmarco Tamberi – Italy.
Who will compete against Mahuchikh and Herashchenko
The women’s high jump final will take place on September 5. The following athletes will join the Ukrainians at the start:
Nicola Olyslagers and Eleanor Patterson – Australia.
Lamara Distin – Jamaica.
Merel Maes and Nafissatou Thiam – Belgium.

The Ukrainians’ previous results
For Yaroslava Mahuchikh, this will be her sixth consecutive final. She has won silver twice – in 2021 and 2025. In 2022–2024, the Ukrainian won the Diamond League final three years in a row.
Iryna Herashchenko has already reached the podium at the final tournament twice. She won silver in 2022 and took bronze in 2024.
This year’s Diamond League season consisted of 14 meetings. In Brussels, athletes will compete for medals in 32 events: 16 men’s and 16 women’s.
