If a trip across the pond to France is on the mind, this new direct flight from Toronto could convince you to book it.
Air Canada just announced its newest routes for 2027, and it will be the only airline with non-stop flights to Nice, France, known as one of Europe’s leading beach destinations. Air Canada’s Toronto-Nice flights are set to launch June 16, with service continuing until Oct. 23, 2027.
“The capital of the Côte d’Azur, ‘Nice la belle,’ as it is known, is famous for its Promenade des Anglais and its seven kilometres of pebble beaches,” states Explore France, the country’s official tourism board.
“France’s fifth-largest city has many other treasures to explore to your heart’s content: escape to the hilltop villages of the hinterland, slide down the snow-covered slopes of Auron and Isola 2000, savour sun-drenched local produce, discover the works of Matisse and Chagall, both shaped by the Mediterranean light.”
And it’s all within a direct-flight’s reach.
The Air Canada flights will be aboard its Airbus A330-300 fleet, which features Air Canada signature, premium economy and economy cabins. They are set to depart from Pearson International Airport at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesdays and Saturdays.
This isn’t the only flight being added to Air Canada’s upcoming year.
Flights to one of the most walkable capitals

Air Canada will also be the only North American airline with non-stop flights to Oslo, Norway, which will be operated aboard its new Airbus A321XLR fleet.
Oslo is one of the most walkable capitals in the world, and the Wall Street Journal calls it the “newest capital of Nordic cool.”
Flights to Oslo from Toronto kick off on June 2, and will run four days a week on Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Sunday until Oct. 10, 2027.
If neither Oslo nor Nice were on the travel itinerary, perhaps Ireland is.
An Irish town with a renowned west coast
Among the new routes announced is Toronto to Shannon, also making Air Canada the only airline offering this non-stop service, which will be on its new Airbus A321XLR fleet.
Shannon is home to Ireland’s renowned, magnificent west coast.
“Play a round of energetic golf or head for a swim in the local leisure complex before exploring the nearby attractions,” states Discover Ireland. “Journey east to Bunratty Castle and Folk Park and learn of its ancient history or travel north to Knappogue Castle, a restored medieval tower house. Walk around its gorgeous grounds and spot the beautiful climbing roses.”
The direct flights to Shannon will run three days a week (Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday) from June 10 to Oct. 2, 2027.
Air Canada plans to operate more than 125 international routes in summer 2027 to more than 85 international destinations across the Atlantic, Pacific, Mexico, the Caribbean, Central and South America.
