WARSAW, N.C. (WITN) – Warsaw police say two of their officers were injured after confronting a man who they say tried to break into an apartment.
Police say Adrain Brinson tried to break into an apartment on Wednesday by repeatedly kicking and damaging the door. The attempt was caught on camera, police say.
Officers say when they found Brinson walking away from the area, he tried to run away.
After a chase and struggle, officers say they were able to take Brinson into custody.
Police say the man was taken to ECU Health Duplin Hospital for evaluation due to his erratic behavior and injuries he received during the struggle.
The two officers’ injuries were described as minor. Several pieces of department-issued equipment were damaged.
Online records show that Brinson was charged with second-degree burglary, breaking and entering, two counts of resisting a public officer/serious bodily injury, two counts of resisting a public officer, injury to real property, and injury to personal property.
