AUGUSTA, Ga. (WJBF) – On Friday, September 4th around 11:47 p.m., deputies with the Richmond County Sheriff’s Office responded to the 2400 block of Amsterdam Drive in reference to a report of shots fired with one person down.
Upon arrival, deputies located a man suffering from at least one gunshot wound to the upper torso.
He was transported to a local hospital for medical treatment.
Richmond County Coroner Mark Bowen was dispatched to Doctor’s Hospital following this incident.
39-year-old John L. Scarboro from Augusta was pronounced dead at 12:26 Saturday morning.
No suspect information has been released.
