According to the State Fire and Rescue Service (SFRS), the call to Laboratory Street was received at 19:54. In an apartment on the fifth floor of a five-story building, items were burning over an area of about ten square meters.

Even before the firefighters arrived, one person was rescued from the burning apartment and handed over to medical personnel. SFRS employees evacuated another ten people from the building. The work at the scene was completed after 22:00.

Shortly before 21:00, rescuers were called to Brivibas Gatve in Riga. A lamp caught fire on the third floor of a three-story public building. The fire was extinguished before the firefighters arrived. Thirty people evacuated the building on their own, while SFRS employees ventilated the smoke-filled rooms.

Another large fire occurred in the Rumbula parish of the Kuldiga region. Shortly before 22:00, a two-story public building caught fire there. The fire engulfed the first floor, the inter-floor ceiling, and the roof — the total area of the fire was 260 square meters.

Twelve firefighters and four fire trucks participated in the firefighting efforts. The work was completed at 4:41 AM.

In total, over the past 24 hours, the SFRS received 45 calls: eight for fire extinguishing, 27 for rescue operations. Another ten calls turned out to be false.
