Caitlin Clark opened up an entirely new fanbase in Berlin, Germany, with an incredible free-to-the-public Nike event to hype up her new signature shoe, the CC1s.
Clark is easily the most popular women’s basketball player in the world, with the reception she is getting in Germany for the FIBA World Cup as proof of her popularity.
Nike decided to capitalise on this by organising an incredible event to showcase Clark’s upcoming debut signature shoe, the CC1s.
Caitlin Clark, Nike gain lots of new fans with Berlin event
Nike turned the ‘Alte Münze’ into a one-day basketball event around Caitlin Clark. It was primarily a shoe exhibit but featured various interactive activities, including a basketball tournament.
The tournament was a 16-player bracket for both men and women, with individual bracket winners earning €1,000.
The event was co-branded with Foot Locker and featured multiple arcade games for young fans and other engaging basketball activities. One of the games was called ‘Shoot More Threes,’ a tagline that’s also written on the CC1s outsoles.
The pop-up was free for fans to attend and included snacks and a juice bar for all attendees to help themselves. It had to have boosted Clark’s fandom in Germany, especially for the fans and non-fans who attended this event.
Caitlin Clark shoe release is less than a month away
Clark’s first Nike signature shoe will officially release on October 1, 2026, amid the WNBA Playoffs. It will also release right before the NBA season, likely borrowing from that hype to sell more shoes.

Sabrina Ionescu had great success when her signature shoes launched right before the 2023-24 NBA season, with multiple NBA players continuing to wear Sabrina’s on the court, like Jrue Holiday, Cade Cunningham, and Payton Pritchard.
Jalen Brunson has recorded a 50-point game in Sabrina’s shoes as well.
Clark will not only hope her mainstream appeal helps sell the shoes, but also their utility.
If NBA players start using it, it might follow a similar trajectory to Sabrina’s, which are easily the most popular women’s basketball player signature shoes on the market right now.
The shoe will launch at $140 and is expected to have multiple colorways over its first year as Clark’s signature shoe.
