C.O.F.F.I.N aren’t slowing down after twenty years.

Off the back of exclusive preview screenings and a 24-hour stint on the Rolling Stone website, C.O.F.F.I.N (Children Of Finland Fighting In Norway) are bringing their documentary, 10,000 Miles From Oslo, to YouTube today.

10,000 Miles From Oslo takes fans through twenty years of C.O.F.F.I.N, with interviews, archival footage and tour material painting a picture of how the Northern Beaches legends developed the sound and identity that is so recognisable today.

The documentary is a celebration of the ARIA-nominated band’s journey so far, as well as an introduction to their newest chapter, Out in Oslo.

C.O.F.F.I.N are tried-and-true Aussie rock icons, complete with outspoken worldviews and a rock-solid mateship behind the music.

Founding members Ben Portnoy and Abijah Rado have been performing together since their early high school days, later joined by Aaron Moss and Steven ‘Kosty’ Kostogiannis.

Twenty years down the line, C.O.F.F.I.N are still pushing the limits of their sound, with their latest album, Out in Oslo — releasing September 18 via p(doom) records — set to be their most adventurous project yet.

Their most recent snippet from the album is ‘13 Days’, and nothing could be a better showcase of the band’s range than this union of acoustic guitar and earnest storytelling that critiques the Australian legal system.

Sonically, it’s a complete one-eighty for C.O.F.F.I.N. At its core, it still has all the values of their renowned discography. The close-minded could say it was a gamble, but it just works so well.

Vocalist and drummer Ben Portnoy said, “One rule we had for this record was to not rule anything out when writing it, and the guys were really supportive and excited about the idea of having our first acoustic track on this album. We were also reminded that any song is a C.O.F.F.I.N song once we’re all playing it together. We’re lucky not to feel restricted by a genre or external expectations.”

For fans of C.O.F.F.I.N’s signature raucous sound, fear not, the old bases are still covered! ‘Think Bad’ and ‘Sleep in It’ maintain the witty lyricism, hectic sound and street-punk grit that’s going to keep the mosh pits pumping in 2027.

C.O.F.F.I.N were also announced to play Yuki Fest 2027 last week, an Australian mini music festival aiming to support independent artists alongside other local legends like Floodlights, Mac the Knife and Liquid Zoo.

C.O.F.F.I.N have proved time and time again that they remain arm-in-arm with the Aussie communities that they hold a microphone to, and the Out in Oslo era is no exception.
