LEGO NINJAGO is celebrating its 15th anniversary with a major new creative collaboration, teaming up with legendary artist FUTURA to reimagine the iconic ninja universe through the lens of street art and contemporary culture.
The LEGO Group has announced FUTURA as an official creative collaborator and artistic co-creator for LEGO NINJAGO, marking an exciting new chapter for the long-running franchise.
To celebrate the partnership, LEGO NINJAGO and FUTURA have unveiled three unique, custom-designed and hand-embellished minifigure artworks, giving fans an early glimpse at what the collaboration could bring to the wider NINJAGO Legends universe.
FUTURA Reimagines the World of LEGO NINJAGO
The first piece, titled ‘Ninja of the Futura’, brings together the instantly recognisable LEGO minifigure with elements of the NINJAGO universe and FUTURA’s distinctive artistic style.
Known for his influential work in contemporary and street art, FUTURA has incorporated elements inspired by his iconic Pointman artworks and personalised graphics to create a bold new interpretation of a NINJAGO hero.
Two additional artworks were also revealed, reimagining fan-favourite characters Nya and Kai.
Together, the three pieces showcase how FUTURA’s creative approach could influence the future of NINJAGO, with the partnership expected to explore new characters, stories and merchandise across the NINJAGO Legends universe.
FUTURA said:
“I couldn’t have dreamed of this collaboration with NINJAGO Legends and the opportunity ahead of me. I don’t think I’ve ever been so inspired and excited to begin such a journey, with a most historic partner. EVERYTHING IS AWESOME!”
The collaboration also brings LEGO NINJAGO further into the worlds of street art and creative culture, something the LEGO Group says reflects the imagination of its global fanbase.
Nigel Kong, Global Head of LEGO NINJAGO at the LEGO Group, said the partnership represents a “bold new venture” for the brand, adding that FUTURA had been on the company’s radar for years because of the similarities between his creative vision and NINJAGO.
LEGO NINJAGO Legends Heads to Seoul
Fans will get their first opportunity to experience the FUTURA collaboration in person on Friday, 18 September 2026, when LEGO NINJAGO hosts a special fan celebration at I Park Mall Yongsan in Seoul, South Korea.
The event will feature the newly unveiled collaborative artworks, exclusive merchandise giveaways featuring co-created designs and an opportunity for fans to get a closer look at the latest LEGO NINJAGO sets.
The celebration will also feature the world premiere of LEGO NINJAGO: Legends DuskFall, described by LEGO as the brand’s first-ever anime stories.
Fans can find out more about the wider LEGO NINJAGO universe and explore the latest NINJAGO Legends sets via the official LEGO website.
LEGO NINJAGO Celebrates 15 Years
The FUTURA collaboration arrives as LEGO NINJAGO marks 15 years since its launch in 2011.
What began as a ninja-inspired LEGO theme has grown into one of the LEGO Group’s longest-running homegrown entertainment franchises, spanning hundreds of television episodes, hundreds of LEGO sets, video games, merchandise and a feature film.
The franchise’s latest chapter, NINJAGO Legends, introduces a new era of characters, adventures and threats while continuing the mythology established over the past 15 years.
LEGO has also released a selection of anniversary sets throughout 2026, including the Four Weapons Blacksmith 15th Anniversary, Ninja Character Display 15th Anniversary and Lloyd’s Titan Mech 15th Anniversary.
More LEGO NINJAGO x FUTURA Collaborations Could Be Coming
While the three custom minifigure artworks offer the first glimpse at the partnership, LEGO NINJAGO and FUTURA have hinted that this could be just the beginning.
With the artist now officially involved as a creative collaborator and co-creator, the partnership could potentially influence future NINJAGO characters, storylines and merchandise.
For fans, the Seoul event on 18 September will provide the first opportunity to see the collaboration up close — while the world premiere of LEGO NINJAGO: Legends DuskFall offers another major milestone for the franchise during its 15th anniversary year.
