AMSTERDAM, N.Y. (WRGB) — A longtime Amsterdam Police K-9 is retiring.
Bruno was bought in 2014 using community donations.
He was deployed more than 500 times over his 11-year career. He helped with high risk search warrants, traffic stops, missing persons, crowd control, drug investigations and more.
He once found five ounces of cocaine, heroin and $13,000 cash in a vehicle. He also found 1,500 baggies of heroin in a home, and tracked down a suspect who escaped in Fonda.
He’s also been a familiar presence at community events.
