WARSAW, Ind. (WNDU) – Warsaw-based orthopedic manufacturer Zimmer Biomet has announced a global workforce reduction, but the company says most of the downsizing is outside of Warsaw.
According to our reporting partners at the Times-Union, company officials did not disclose the total number of employees affected by the layoffs.
The company says the moves are necessary to allow the company to achieve its long-term strategy while also developing life-changing innovations for patients.
Zimmer Biomet says it’s supporting the employees affected by the downsizing with severance packages and career transition assistance.
Zimmer Biomet makes orthopedic products, including knee, hip, shoulder, elbow, foot and ankle artificial joints and dental prostheses. The company operates in more than 40 different countries.
