As with every Fashion Week, the best street-style looks can be as fun to look at as the buzziest runway shows. Over the last few years, Copenhagen Fashion Week has earned a reputation for its especially strong street-style game, often setting off trends that trickle down and dominate for months to come.

Danish style has come to be defined by practical silhouettes reworked for a playful, almost tongue-in-cheek effect. Think boxy Peter Pan–collared button-downs, woolly kick-flare trousers, and hair accessories inspired by every variation of plant and fungi a forest nymph might gather. It doesn’t shout so much as it radiates a certain joyfulness coupled with functionality. After all, bicycles continue to be the preferred method of transportation for getting around the city center.

This season, I clocked extra-big bomber jackets, vibrant rainbow-hued knits, and shaggy fur trim. The abundance of contrasting textures and exaggerated proportions made me excited to dress up for the rest of what may be the most frigid winter in a long time.

CPHFW has closed for the season, but you can easily re-create some of the standout street-style looks right now.

It snowed the day before Copenhagen Fashion Week officially kicked off, and the temperatures remained numbingly cold throughout. Instead of throwing on beanies and wrapping their faces in scarves, some of the most stylish attendees leaned into elegance, wearing sculpted pillbox caps and weedy garden hats.

While heavy fur jackets seemed to dominate coat trends for a few seasons, it seems like that is giving way to shearling collars and shaggy-trimmed coats. They are less bulky but just as warm.

An oversize bombers is one of the most versatile pieces you can invest in. Wear one now with a turtleneck and thick knit, then slung casually over a T-shirt and jeans when the temperatures start to warm back up.

It wouldn’t be Copenhagen Fashion Week if attendees weren’t taking color combinations to new levels. This season, we spotted several variations on rainbow-colored knits. Let one be the star of your outfit or a happy accent.

Bright but not overwhelming, chartreuse was a breakout color. On everything from double-breasted coats and suede two-piece suits to triangle knit scarves and thick turtlenecks, it’s a color that can read playful or sophisticated depending on how you style it, and it works exceedingly well with neutrals.

We’re still borrowing from the men this season. Whether you go for an oversize blazer or an elegantly striped tie, pulling in a masculine-coded accessory adds a kind of gravitas to your overall look.

Pants are an inherently practical piece of clothing, but they don’t have to be boring. In fact, they can actually make you excited to get dressed for the day. Take this as a sign to go big on print, texture, and color.
