WARSAW, Mo. (KY3) – A Warsaw man is accused of leading law enforcement on a chase that lasted almost an hour, with speeds reaching 90 mph.
An officer tried to stop Kenneth Wombles for driving with expired plates yesterday. Court records show Wombles fled the traffic stop, leading to an extended pursuit.
At one point during the chase, a police officer had to drive off the road because Wombles was driving directly at him, according to court records.
Wombles told police he sped off to avoid being arrested on an outstanding warrant. He faces charges related to the high-speed pursuit.
The chase endangered multiple officers and civilians during the nearly hour-long incident across the area.
