DANVILLE, Va. — A new specialty store focused on LEGO® building toys is preparing to open in Danville this spring, offering fans of all ages a place to buy, sell, trade and play with LEGOs.

Bricks & Minifigs Danville plans its grand opening at 145 Holt Garrison Parkway, Suite 410, according to company announcements. The business will be part of the national Bricks & Minifigs franchise network, which specializes in aftermarket LEGO® products and creative community events.

Bricks & Minifigs stores buy, sell and trade LEGO® sets, minifigures and bulk bricks — giving collectors and families the option to turn unused items into store credit or cash. Each location maintains a wide selection of new, used and retired LEGO® sets, individual minifigures and bulk pieces for customers to purchase.

The Danville store will extend that model locally, providing a marketplace for people to bring in everything from minifigs and completed sets to tubs of loose bricks. Offers are typically made on the condition, demand and type of items brought in, with cash or in‑store credit available at the point of trade.

In addition to its retail offerings, Bricks & Minifigs Danville will host birthday parties and special events for children and adults. The location will feature two dedicated birthday party rooms that can be used separately or combined into a larger space for expanded gatherings, offering a private setting where guests can build and celebrate together.

The store also will include a DUPLO play area designed for younger children. DUPLO — a LEGO® sub‑brand featuring larger bricks intended for toddlers and preschoolers — allows smaller children to enjoy open indoor play in a safe environment.

“Bricks & Minifigs is more than just a retail shop,” said a representative for the franchise.

“Our goal is to create a community hub where LEGO® fans — from lifelong collectors to families with young builders — can share their passion, trade pieces, and celebrate creativity together.”

That sense of community is central to the Bricks & Minifigs concept. The franchise encourages reuse and creative building, allowing customers to rebuild past favorites or discover new creations using a vast inventory of pieces and sets. The stores often serve as gathering spots for enthusiasts, hosting build sessions, workshops and group activities that promote imaginative play.

Bricks & Minifigs originated in the United States as a specialty resale shop for LEGO® products and has grown into one of the largest toy retailers of its kind. Franchise owners operate independently but follow the same core model of buying, selling and trading LEGO® merchandise while offering family‑friendly experiences.

The Danville location’s spring grand opening will offer residents and visitors alike a new destination for creative play, collectible hunting and community events tied to one of the world’s most popular building toys. The specific date of the grand opening will be announced closer to the event.
