AMSTERDAM, N.Y. (WNYT) – An Amsterdam woman working for a grocery delivery service is accused of trying to take other items without paying for them.

According to the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office, Corrine A. Yacobucci, 51, arrived at Hannaford in the town of Amsterdam on Friday night to pick up several grocery delivery orders. Yacobucci then selected another $247 worth of grocery items and tried to leave without paying, investigators said.

When confronted by staff members, investigators said Yacobucci left the store without any of the groceries.

Surveillance footage identified Yacobucci as the suspect, the Sheriff’s Office said.

Yacobucci had previously trespassed at the store after a theft incident in 2022, according to investigators.

Yacobucci is under the supervision of probation for a previous larceny conviction. She turned herself in to the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office on Saturday.

Yacobucci was charged with felony burglary and petit larceny. She was arraigned in Amsterdam Town Court and sent to Montgomery County Jail. She is due back in court at a later date.
