Carolyn Grow

Carolyn Jayne Grow, of Warsaw, passed away on Saturday, Feb. 21, 2026, in the care of Miller’s Merry Manor of Warsaw at the age of 85.

She was born on Dec. 1, 1940, in Muncie, to Rosemary (Long) Burton and Wilburn Webb Burton. Carolyn graduated from Muncie Central High School … home of the Bearcats. She moved to Warsaw from Muncie in 1985 and made Kosciusko County her permanent home. Carolyn was a tough-minded lady who raised her children after her divorce. She was a wonderful homemaker and worked for 15 years at Owens Supermarket (now Kroger) in Warsaw, putting her skills to use in the deli and bakery.

Carolyn was a lifelong lover of animals, with a special place in her heart for her beloved Yorkie and fond memories of showing dogs in her youth. Above all, she fiercely loved her family and had unconditional love for her children and her grandkids. She leaves a legacy as a devoted mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and a wonderful friend to many, all who will cherish her memory forever.

She will be lovingly remembered by her two sons, Darryn Johnson, Warsaw, and Terry Johnson, Gas City; and her daughter, Lorrie Vining, Warsaw. Also surviving are her beloved nine grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and her sister, Stephanie Burton, California. She was preceded in death by her parents; son, Bobby Johnson; one great-grandson; brother, Mike Burton; and her sister, Becky Johnson.

Carolyn’s life will be celebrated privately by her family.
