These routes will be serviced by a conventional ro-pax ferry, a ro-ro vessel, and two high-speed ro-pax ferries. Initially, DFDS will operate the chartered ro-pax STENA VINGA, the chartered ro-ro ARROW, and the high-speed ferries LEVANTE JET and TARIFA JET. The two high-speed ferries joined the DFDS fleet following the acquisition of FSR Iberia/Maroc. Previously, DFDS had released renderings of a fully electric aluminium catamaran for the Saint-Malo route, developed in collaboration with Incat, as part of the long-term fleet under the 20-year contract. However, this was the first time the rendering of the future conventional ro-pax was shown public. According to DFDS, the plan is to introduce the aluminium catamaran in 2028, a purpose-built ro-ro vessel in 2030, and the new conventional ro-pax ferry in 2031.
