There are easier, certainly more sheltered, places to play football than the Faroe Islands.
Wind hits the tiny archipelago in the north Atlantic Ocean hard. Regularly. So much so that no fewer than 15 games in the Faroe Islands Premier League have been postponed this season due to gale-force gusts.
It’s windy and rainy and it’s also home to one of the best stories anywhere in football right now.
While the Faroe Islands might seem a million miles from the elite level of the global game, their national team has never been closer to qualifying for the World Cup.
They couldn’t… could they?!
