The Ukrainian men’s basketball team was defeated by Spain in the third round of the group stage of the 2027 World Cup qualifiers.
The match in Riga, at the Xiaomi Arena, ended with a score of 66:86 (21:17, 12:15, 14:33, 19:21).
The next meeting between Ukraine and Spain will take place in Oviedo on March 2.
Prior to that, the Ukrainians and Spaniards defeated Georgia and Denmark respectively.
Group stage recap and what comes next
Following the group stage, the top three teams from Group A advance to the next stage. They will play against the representatives of Group B – Montenegro, Greece, Portugal and Romania. Importantly, the results of the first-stage matches between the teams that advance remain in effect.
