Actor Shweta Tripathi recently ticked off a long-cherished dream from her bucket list by travelling to Amsterdam to attend a live concert by legendary composer Hans Zimmer. For the actress, the journey was solely about witnessing the maestro perform live — a wish she had quietly nurtured for years as a devoted cinema enthusiast.

Shweta Tripathi flies to Amsterdam to watch Hans Zimmer live; says “His music has always stayed with me”
Shweta, known for her nuanced performances, has often spoken about her deep connection with film music. For her, background scores are not just accompaniments to visuals but emotional anchors that linger long after the credits roll. Zimmer’s iconic compositions for films such as Dune, Interstellar, and The Dark Knight have particularly resonated with her over the years, shaping the way she experiences and interprets cinema.
As an actor, Shweta considers music an integral part of her creative process. Before stepping into any new project, she curates a personal playlist that reflects her character’s emotional landscape. According to her, this practice helps her understand silences, pauses, and inner conflicts — sometimes even before the script fully settles in. She believes Hans Zimmer’s music achieves that emotional depth effortlessly, without the need for words.
“His music has always stayed with me long after a film ends,” Shweta shared and went on to continue, “There’s an honesty and depth in his compositions that really hits you emotionally. As an actor and a cinema student, I’m drawn to anything that helps me understand emotion better, and his music does that quietly, without explanation. Watching him live feels like the most direct way to experience that energy”.

The Amsterdam concert also offered Shweta an opportunity to pause and step away from her routine. Rather than analysing every note, she allowed herself to simply absorb the performance and its atmosphere. “I’m coming back with a renewed perspective,” she added. “Music has such a strong role in shaping emotion and storytelling, and seeing it come alive like this feels important.”
For Shweta Tripathi, the trip was more than just attending a concert — it was about reconnecting with the emotional core of storytelling and returning home with inspiration that will inevitably influence her future performances.
