On March 1, 2026, the Leo Express Warsaw–Krakow route entered regular operation, adding a new Leo Express domestic service in Poland between the country’s two largest cities. The first train left Warszawa Wschodnia (Warsaw East Station) at 7:21 a.m., as noted by Leo Express.

Also, the launch supports the wider Warsaw–Krakow–Prague connection. From Kraków Główny (Krakow Central Station), services continue toward Prague via Ostrava, Olomouc and Pardubice, extending the offer beyond the domestic section.

Leo Express timetable Warsaw Krakow and planned frequency growth
Meanwhile, Leo Express runs two trains per day between Warsaw and Krakow, with stops at Warszawa Centralna (Warsaw Central), Warszawa Zachodnia (Warsaw West), Opoczno Południe and Włoszczowa Północ. Departures are set for 7:21 and 22:36 from Warsaw, and 3:25 and 18:45 from Krakow.
By mid-June 2026, the operator plans to increase the Warsaw–Krakow frequency to four trains daily in each direction. In addition, on the Krakow–Prague route, the company says frequency will reach three trains per day each way, and four on weekends.
Ticket sales, stakeholders and regional extensions
Separately, Leo Express says demand was strong at launch, reporting that more than 100,000 tickets have already been sold in Poland for the new services, as reported by Railway Pro. The inaugural event drew representatives of PKP Polskie Linie Kolejowe, the Centralny Port Komunikacyjny (CPK) project and diplomatic officials.
“Competition in rail transport brings significant savings for public budgets and taxpayers. We are demonstrating that key routes can operate without subsidies, on a fully commercial basis,” said Peter Köhler, CEO of Leo Express.
On the Polish section, trains also stop at Opoczno Południe and Włoszczowa Północ. On the Krakow–Prague corridor, some services are planned to stop at Oświęcim, and one train will serve Ratiboř, Rybnik, Tychy and Mysłowice.
From April, Leo Express also plans to introduce a bus connection between Krakow and Lviv (Ukraine). Looking further ahead, the company is preparing a new international connection on the Przemyśl–Rzeszów–Krakow–Ostrava–Prague–Dresden–Leipzig–Erfurt–Frankfurt Airport route, as also covered by RailTech. It also plans Czech-Slovak services between Prague and Bratislava using Talgo trains.
