The capital of Estonia – Tallinn – sent to Ukraine dozens of electric generators and diesel-powered heating cannons to assist Zhytomyr Oblast. The necessary items were taken from the city’s strategic reserves, the total value of the batch is about 40 thousand euros.
A few weeks ago, the Zhytomyr Oblast authorities appealed to the capital authorities to support the region during the winter period, given the frequent Russian attacks on the country’s energy infrastructure.
According to Tallinn Mayor Peeter Raudsepp, dozens of electric generators and diesel-powered heating cannons are being sent in response to the request – with a total value of about 40 thousand euros.
Context and Significance of the Support
Such steps demonstrate strong cooperation between Estonia and Zhytomyr Oblast and confirm Europe’s readiness to help Ukraine in conditions of energy and humanitarian support.

Deputy Mayor Tiit Terik explained why the city’s stocks were used – it allowed for quicker assistance and avoided delays in delivery.
“If we were to buy new goods for aid, it would take time. So we are giving our stocks, and within a month we will purchase new ones and replenish the stocks.”

Tallinn Mayor Peeter Raudsepp also noted that they considered options to send money or purchase generators in Estonia, but decided to act quickly, using the city’s stocks to promptly support the region.
This aid is part of a long-term cooperation between Estonia and Zhytomyr Oblast and demonstrates Europe’s willingness to support Ukraine in the context of energy and humanitarian crisis.
