Snow removal operations are continuing, with work carried out during the day, at night and early in the morning. In narrow streets, snow is removed mainly at night and on weekends, when traffic is lighter.

“Because of narrow streets and tightly packed buildings, snow is removed regularly to keep traffic safe and ensure access for residents, as well as the smooth organisation of events and the reception of visitors,” said Dana Jasilionytė, head of territory maintenance at Grinda.

Collected snow is transported to a specialised storage site in Gariūnai, where it is left to melt naturally. Sand, salt and small waste residues are then collected and disposed of.

Street parking spaces in the old town are scheduled to be cleaned between 5 and 10 February. Residents have been urged to move their vehicles during the clean-up period.
