Denmark Firefighters Announce Date for Annual Booyah and Raffle Fundraiser

The Denmark Volunteer Fire Department is getting ready for one of its biggest fundraisers of the year.

On Sunday, March 15th, the Department will be holding its Booyah Event and 18th Annual Cash Prize Raffle at Fire Station 1, located at 451 North Wall Street in Denmark.

Firefighters will be on hand offering drive-thru service for booyah, burgers, and brats starting at 11:00 a.m., with cash prize raffle drawings starting at 2:00.

The stakes are even higher this year, as the top prize winner will receive $1,250.

The other winners will receive between $750 and $125, along with five smaller cash prizes.

The Denmark Fire Department is looking to raise enough money to purchase a large message board, which will be attached to one of its Tender (Tanker) trucks for use during traffic control operations.

Fire Chief Thad Tremble notes that this piece of equipment is important because, “Firefighters and other First Responders are at greater risk of being injured or killed when working on roadway incidents.  The traffic volume and speed factors, distracted drivers, and dangerous road conditions have increased the need to have these newer types of tools in our toolbox available to help keep our Hometown Heroes safer.”
