Danish giants FC Midtjylland have quietly become one of Europe’s most productive talent factories, consistently unearthing forwards who rack up goals in the Superliga before attracting attention from richer leagues.
Their latest breakout striker is no different, with his form putting him firmly on the radar of several Premier League sides ahead of the summer window.
According to a report from Denmark outlet Campo, Liverpool have already tested Midtjylland’s resolve with an offer for 22-year-old Dario Osorio. It was said to a DKK 65-75m [€8.7-10m] offer for the Chilean, but his club did not accept the offer.
This lines up with a prior report from Tipsbladet, who reported the news back in October of 2025.
The Anfield side are far from alone. It’s claimed that Arsenal and Bournemouth are also in the race, while two other unnamed Premier League clubs have registered their interest with Midtjylland. That level of competition is only likely to drive the price up further, with the Danish club under no pressure to sell quickly and prepared to play hardball over their star asset.
Mostly used on the right wing, Osorio has 21 goals and 15 assists in 99 appearances, with six goals and 10 assists coming in 38 games this season.
Strong, mobile and comfortable attacking the box from different angles, he has also translated his output onto the European stage, catching the eye of scouts from across the continent.
FC Midtjylland handed the Chilean a new contract in January, tying him to the club until the summer of 2030
For now, Midtjylland hold the cards after batting away Liverpool’s first move, but with several heavyweights circling, this is a transfer saga that looks certain to rumble on into the summer
The club’s current record transfer is the €25 million sale of Ernest Nuamah, followed by deals for Orri Óskarsson and Ibrahim Osman, who were sold to Real Sociedad and Brighton & Hove Albion for €20 million and €19.5 million, respectively.
