A tense mass start in Holmenkollen produced a narrow victory decided by shooting and skiing margins, leaving the podium separated by seconds.

In Holmenkollen (Norway), the penultimate race of the ninth stage of the Biathlon World Cup for the 2025/26 season took place.

In the women’s 12.5 km mass start, Italian Lisa Vittozzi celebrated the victory. She covered the distance with one penalty lap at four shooting rounds in 34 minutes 58.9 seconds.

In second place, Swedish Hanna Öberg finished 4.2 seconds behind (1 miss); third went to Czech Teresa Vaborníková (1 miss), 17.2 seconds back.

Thirty biathletes took part in the competition; there were no Ukrainian representatives among the participants.

The men’s 15 km mass-start race starts at 17:15; the Ukrainian team will be represented by Vitaliy Mandzin wearing bib number 24.
